The Bruges department of the West Flanders public prosecutor’s office decided not to appoint a fire expert, because the cause of the fire is clear. A problem with the dryer could have been the culprit. So there is certainly no question of malicious intent. Due to the extensive damage, the house was declared uninhabitable. The residents of the adjacent homes were evacuated as a preventive measure, but were allowed to return home quickly.
