Parcel return via Uber

The US service company Uber is expanding its offering and now offers its customers the opportunity to have their packages that need to be returned picked up by a courier.

The new function, which is currently only available in various major US cities, is an expansion of the ‘Uber Connect’ service, Uber announced in early October. With ‘Uber Connect’, the company launched the delivery service for items within a city three years ago, which is currently only available in parts of the USA.

With the expansion, customers can have up to five prepaid and sealed packages picked up at once, which are then taken to shipping providers such as UPS and FedEx, who then bring the returns to the companies.

Customers can track their picked-up packages in real time, such as with Uber Eats food orders and passenger transport. Couriers will send a visual confirmation or photo of the receipt when the drop-off is completed.

The cost of this service is a flat rate of $5 (4.71 euros) or $3 for Uber One members.
