Paramount Global share higher: Paramount+ wants to establish itself alongside Netflix, Amazon & Co. in Germany

In-house productions were shown in six cinemas on Wednesday evening, such as the German-Swiss series “Der Scheich” by director Dani Levy (65, “Alles auf Zucker”).

“Actually, there is no need for another streaming provider, but there will be an audience that will be happy to try out a new streamer and will stay with it if the program is convincing,” said the Swiss filmmaker to the German Press Agency. “We’re all greedy and curious enough to find good content. And Paramount brings good stuff.”

Paramount+ would like to establish itself in Germany alongside Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and other providers, although some of the platforms are struggling with lower subscriber numbers this year. “The offer is far too much and I can hardly manage it, but I love streaming,” said entertainer Rick Kavanian (51).

A monthly subscription to the German US branch will cost around eight euros from this Thursday, and a first trial week is free. You can see Paramount films like “Top Gun: Maverick” or “Jackass Forever”, US series like “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” and the children’s series “Paw Patrol”.

In NASDAQ trading, Paramount Global shares temporarily rose by 0.69 percent to $18.14.
