Para snow sports world championship: Forster takes third gold medal, winter sports | Alpine skiing – SWR – Regional

Two-time Paralympic champion Anna-Lena Forster from Radolfzell won her third gold medal at the Para Snow Sports World Championships in Lillehammer, Norway. After winning downhill and super-G, the 26-year-old mono-skier also dominated the super combination on Monday.

In the standing class, Anna-Maria Rieder and Andrea Rothfuss from Freudenstadt fought for bronze – with the better end for Rieder, who was 2.39 seconds behind Rothfuss after the Super-G and then just overtook them in the slalom.

German team with strong performances

After five days of competition, the German team won four gold and two bronze medals. On Saturday, for example, Anja Wicker from Stuttgart triumphed in the sitting class in the biathlon. Despite a shooting error, Wicker had saved a wafer-thin lead of 1.6 seconds over the favorite American Oksana Masters.

“It’s completely crazy,” said the 30-year-old. For national coach Ralf Rombach, Wicker’s performance was “madness”. It was the “physically best race” “that you have seen from her so far”.
