The Pantone color institute released its forecast for the colors of London Fashion Week for autumn-winter 2022 on Friday. The report is published every six months just before London Fashion Week and gives a first glimpse of which colors will be seen at the fashion shows in the British capital.
The Color Institute describes the predicted colors as a combination of the chaotic and the calm, which expresses our desire for serenity and well-being, as well as the opposite longing for vitalization and new energy.
Similar to the Color forecast for New York Fashion Week, the color palette consists of contrasting and contrasting colors. While the ten accent colors are strong and colourful, the five selected basic tones are harmonious and balanced.
“As we look to the future, we see two unfolding paths that, while vastly different, are inevitably connected,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “This intense dichotomy is reflected in our Fall/Winter 2022/2023 color choices.”
Colorful variety of colors
The accent colors are made up of a wide range of colours. Strawberry Cream, a bright pink, and Meadow Violet, a light purple, add loveliness. Molten Lava and Dragon Fire, both eye-catching blazing reds, bring an energetic twist to the color palette. Some tranquility is created with Chicory Cafe, a rich earth brown.
Green and blue are represented in two shades each: Cardamom Seed, an earthy khaki, and Abundant Green, a rich forest green, as well as Lichen Blue, a balanced mid-blue, and Watersprout, a light turquoise. Spicy Mustard, an exotic yellow, brings another pop of color to the palette.
Versatile color classics
In contrast to the accent colors, the five core colors are classic and timeless. Pantone presents a warm cream tone with Tapioca and a rich apricot with Peach Caramel. A spicy but soft shade of brown, called Iced Coffee, rounds out the warm colors with a slightly bolder tone. Two of the base shades are on the cooler part of the color spectrum – Quiet Shade is a neutral gray and Blueberry is a deep indigo blue.
