Panic in Dinteloord. The emergency services were there en masse on Wednesday, after a report that a car was floating in the water on the North Sea dike. It turned out to be a false alarm: only a tire was floating.
The fire brigade arrived at the accident site with several fire vehicles and an aerial platform. An ambulance was also urgently called. But once in the water, two firefighters discovered that there was no question of a floating car.
They got the tire out of the water. All emergency services then left.
