It is an ancient diatribe that divides families and friends. According to a research carried out by Nextplora for Bauliif Panettone and Pandoro are inevitable and irreplaceable on the Christmas table for as many as 62% of Italians, in 2022 Pandoro triumphs! For these holidays 2022, 63% of Italians proudly declared themselves “Team Pandoro”, especially the younger ones (i76% of Gen Z and 78% of Millennials), while panettone meets the tastes above all of the Baby Boomers (54% compared to the national average of 37%).

On one thing, however, all generations agree at Christmas: after lunches and dinners with family and friends eating pandoro or panettone is a must for 58% of Italians. On closer inspection, traditional sweets surpass even the exchange of gifts in the preferences of Italians (52%) even if they are inevitable especially for boomers (even 69%) and for those belonging to Generation X (60%). Christmas desserts remain, in fact, fixed points: only 1% of those interviewed said they had given up panettone and pandoro at the table.

Another element of sharing between generations is the place to spend the holidays: the home, in the company of one’s family, is the solution that wins starting from GenZ (69% of the interviewees) up to the Baby Boomers (87%).

Therefore transgenerational and above all good, Christmas sweets warm everyone’s heart.
