It will happen to you: you get into your car and you see a complete stranger sleeping in the back seat. It happened to Pamela Smit from Breda, who is still recovering from the shock a day later.

Like every Monday, Pamela and her son left for school at eight o’clock in the morning. When she arrived at the car, she helped the child into the passenger seat and then Pamela walked towards the driver’s side herself. “I walked around the car and suddenly I see someone in the back seat,” she says. “I was scared to death, and I’m still in shock!”

Pamela froze for a moment, wondering if she should knock on the window, then decided to run as fast as she could. “I walked to the other side, threw open the door and said to my son, come out. There’s someone in the back seat.”

“He was just putting on his shoes at his leisure.”

The two ran back home and once inside, Pamela immediately grabbed her cell phone to take pictures. “Apparently I had woken him up. He was comfortably putting on his shoes and then got out of my car.”

How the uninvited guest got her car open was initially also a mystery to Pamela. “But he probably broke open the button of the trunk. Later my niece also found a small gold pocket knife in the back seat, so he must have broken the lock and thought: I’m going to sleep here.”
