A violent clash between fans of Brazil’s top soccer teams Palmeiras Sao Paulo and Flamengo Rio de Janeiro has claimed one life.
According to her family, Palmeiras supporter Gabriella Anelli succumbed to injuries suffered by the 23-year-old last Saturday in a fight on the sidelines of a TV broadcast outside the stadium shortly after the top game (1-1) kicked off.
Anelli was hit by a glass bottle and critically injured when both fan camps threw the drinking containers at police officers who had arrived.
