The perpetrator, a 19-year-old Palestinian from East Jerusalem, which is annexed and occupied by Israel, wounded one of the officers with a knife before being shot, police said. The facts happened just after 4:30 a.m. at Bab al-Huttah, one of the gates to the Temple Mount. The young man approached the police officers who had been stationed there. “He took out a knife and stabbed one of them,” the police said in a press release.
