Aachen-based indie poppers Pale have released their first new songs in over ten years. Her label Grand Hotel van Cleef shared the video for the two singles “Bigger Than Life” and “Man Of 20 Lives”. on Youtube. On Monday Pale announced their new and last album. Guitarist Christian Dang-Anh died of a brain tumor in 2021.
“So today – on a normal Thursday in September – the time has finally come. We are proud to release the first two singles from our very last album,” the band wrote on Facebook. “After more than two years of work on the album, we feel that the songs speak best for themselves. ‘Bigger Than Life’ and ‘Man Of 20 Lives’ are for Christian and for Stephan.” Drummer Stephan Kochs was not involved in the recordings for health reasons.
THE NIGHT, THE DAWN AND WHAT REMAINS, as the album is titled, will be released on November 25th by Grand Hotel van Cleef. The album can be pre-ordered now. Also, Pale are planning “a big show” in early 2023.

“[Wir] worked more than two years on every song, every note and every syllable as if it were the last time,” the band wrote in the album announcement on Monday. “Because we knew it was exactly that. Even after Christian’s death last year, we decided to move on and finish the songs we had already recorded.”
Pale was founded by Holger Kochs, Christian Dang-anh and Stephan Kochs in September 1993. They made their breakthrough on a national and international level in 2000 with the album RAZZMATAZZ (THE ARTS AT THE SANDS). Their last album was released in 2006 under the name BROTHER, SISTER, BORES! on Grand Hotel Van Cleef.
