During the Miss Universe competition, norms were broken and history was made. One of the most historic moments of the competition was seen in the swimsuit round, when Miss Pakistan Erica Robin25, didn’t wear a traditional swimsuit.
Missi was wearing a pink burkini, i.e. a swimsuit that covers the whole body. The spectacular detail of the outfit was the sparkling collar. Robin completed her outfit with a bun, big earrings and nude heels.

Robin is the first Pakistani representative in Miss Universe history. He finished among the top 20 semi-finalists in the competition. Robin has said in his own introductory text that his participation in the competition aroused mixed reactions in Pakistan.
– Despite the criticism, I was ready to face any challenge and stick to my values as a young and modern Pakistani woman. I represent our rich culture and heritage and I want to show the world that successful women can be celebrated in Pakistan, she said in her introduction.
Robin wasn’t the only one to make history in the race. Representative of Nepal Jane Dipika Garrett was the first plus size miss to participate in Miss Universe. Garrett was ranked among the 20 most beautiful misses in the competition.
A total of 84 misses participated in the competition, but the title of the most beautiful woman in the world was won this year by the representative of Nicaragua Sheynnis Palacios. Miss Thailand won silver Antonia Porsild and third was the one representing Australia Moray Wilson. Miss Finland From Paula Jouka was not selected in the top 20 misses.
