For one season
Villarreal FC has found a new coach after coach Quique Setién left. Contrary to recent speculation that ex-Schalke professional Raúl could leave Madrid for the position in Castelló, the club presented former Valladolid coach Pacheta on Saturday.
Pacheta will receive a contract with Villarreal for the 2023/24 season, which the Europa League participant got off to a weak start. Predecessor Setién left Vila-real during the week with just three points from the first four games. The club management is said to have doubted the former Barça coach for a long time.
Most recently, a “Marca” report suggested a possible signing of Raúl. Real’s young coach is said to have been very interested in the Villarreal job despite his declared goal of becoming the head of the Royals. The Madrilenians didn’t put any obstacles in his way either. Now “El Submarí Groguet” decided on Pacheta, at least for a year.
