Pablo Aimar lived emotional moments on Argentina’s bench.
It was difficult in Argentina, really difficult. Saturday night’s first half against Mexico was painful to watch for the Argentines.
Opening the game for the “Albiceleste” was a bit of a drag, and it wasn’t Lionel Messi’s the champion favorite was able to create even decent goal chances in an important early group match.
In the second period, however, it picked up, and a big thank you for that again belonged to Messi. An accurate shot from 20 meters sank into the bottom corner. At the same time, a real storm of emotions was felt on the bench in Argentina.
Pablo Aimar, a true player legend, the current member of Argentina’s coaching staff couldn’t hold back. Aimar’s reaction after Messi’s goal was epic.

Aimar, 43, is also remembered for his Argentina national team jersey. In the years 1999–2009, he represented his home country in 52 A national matches. He came to the attention of the general public thanks to his dazzling seasons in Valencia. Kikkarapää was the maestro of the tenth place.
Aimar and Messi had time to play at the same time in the Argentine national team.
Aimar has been part of the A national team’s coaching team since 2018.
Argentina beat Mexico 2–0. It will face Poland in the final match of its initial group on Wednesday.
