Paaspop was officially kicked off by 30,000 Sligro customers

Paaspop officially starts in Schijndel on Friday. But 30,000 customers of wholesaler Sligro from Veghel were already there on Thursday. The company bought the entire festival for a day. “Let’s do something tough,” says Wilco Jansen of Sligro.

Peter from Middelbeers walks at the festival. “It’s super fun,” he says. “All catering people together.” He was taken by Rob from Esbeek. “Such a party, yes, this is real customer service.”

It’s not just one or two tents with some music. There are bands or DJs on fourteen stages, and not the least names: Di-Rect, Goldband, Flemming and Suzan & Freek, just to name a few. The same artists who will also be at the festival in the coming days.

“This is our backyard.”

Above all, Sligro wants to create something nice for its customers. “We have never done just buying off a festival,” says Wilco Jansen. Sligro has already had thousands of customers go to Night of the Proms, Vrienden van Amstel Live and Groots with a soft G. “An entire festival is next level.”

And then Paaspop is the most logical festival for Sligro. “This is in our backyard,” says Jansen. “Our roots are in Veghel, nearby. We have known Easter doll for a long time. We have also been a major supplier to this festival for years.”

They can do this every year.

To get a festival ticket, all those customers have saved very old-fashioned stamps. “So there are a lot of catering entrepreneurs and their employees from all over the country,” says Jansen. “Shuttle buses run to Paaspop from all our fifty branches.”

It is not cheap to buy off such a festival. “No, everything has its price,” says Jansen. “But what matters is what it yields. And those are a lot of happy customers.”

These customers come from all over the country. But also very close. Like Karin from Schijndel. “I’m all here from work, Jansen and Jansen in Schijndel. We are happy with it. They can do this every year. Hard working people deserve that.”
