Paaspop visitors in hours of traffic jams, parking fields still almost impassable

1/4 It is difficult to reach the Paaspop site, especially by car

Festivalgoers stand in traffic jams for hours in front of the Paaspop site in Schijndel. From the N279 it takes an excruciatingly long time before visitors can enter the Paaspop site. Due to the heavy rain, the parking lot has turned into a mud puddle and there is a major delay.

The atmosphere in the long queue is relaxed and cheerful at the same time. Two girls are playing a game of Earthworms on the dashboard. “We have been here for two hours,” says the driver. “I hope my car survives the mud, but it will. This car is just new.”

Festivalgoers have been warned. Thousands of people were able to leave the parking lot with difficulty on Thursday evening. One by one, the stranded cars had to be dragged from the parking lot by tractors.

The organization of Paaspop therefore called for the shuttle buses to come from Den Bosch station as much as possible. People who come by car are welcome, but have to count on an extra long waiting time. Cars enter the parking fields with difficulty and you cannot park everywhere because of the deep ruts in the mud.

And it shows. Father and son wait patiently in line. “I’ve been trying to drop him off here for 2.5 hours,” says the father. “I’m just dropping my son off here. He can go in the mud.”

Many people complained about the chaos on Thursday evening and night. The last cars left the parking lot at half past four in the morning. Some people even left their cars behind and took a taxi home.

Paaspop staff are also not allowed to park on the site. A shuttle bus has been arranged for them from the parking lot of the Brabanthallen in Den Bosch.

Paaspop opened half an hour later on Friday afternoon because of all the delays. Because not all staff could arrive on site in time either.
