Özcan Akyol is quite disappointed in TV colleague Martijn Krabbé. The NPO presenter finds it incomprehensible that the RTL 4 star demeans himself so much with Blow Up. “Really a low point.”
It is seen as one of the most infantile TV programs on Dutch television: Blow Up, a program about people who blow up balloons. The show was first presented by Martijn Krabbé and Chantal Janzen, but she has taken off. Now he presents that program with RTL 4’s new addition Leonie ter Braak.
Dumb television
What a stupid television, also thinks Özcan Akyol. Critics find it incredibly inconvenient that Leonie made her debut with the channel in this show, but Martijn is also annoyed.
Özcan is very disappointed that Martijn and his team underestimate the TV viewers. “TV makers somehow think that viewers are retarded. It gets more infantile by the week,” he writes in the VARA guide.
Into the country
Perhaps Martijn, Leonie and their colleagues should go into the country to see who all those TV viewers are, says Özcan. “They should walk through Gelderland, Overijssel and Brabant more often, just talk to real people, on a terrace or in the park, so that they see that those people are not crazy at all.”
Apparently all those TV stars at the Mediapark no longer know that, says the presenter who lives in Deventer. “I think a lot of editors have lost touch with society at the moment.”
All time low
The bright side of this case? “I think, in all honesty, that this is the low point of national television, which we can basically call good news, because after this it can only get better.”
