Özcan Akyol confirms story about naughty apps Matthijs: ‘That’s right!’

Can the knife go even deeper into Matthijs van Nieuwkerk’s back? Özcan Akyol confirms the story about an angry group of former colleagues who allegedly have ‘apps to women’.

Özcan Akyol was finally in last night Today Inside to provide text and explanation about his bizarre role in the Matthijs van Nieuwkerk riot. He greatly inflated the scandal surrounding the presenter by going on television about an alleged howler video. A video that was partly the reason to remove his hands from his TVbestie to subtract.

Eus is sorry

Does scandal-monger Eus regret it? “I think that was awkward, even though I had said: ‘It is not pleasant behavior that you see in the video, but it is not illegal either, he does not hit anyone, it is not rape, but unpleasant behavior during a rehearsal. ‘ Then I was indeed called a liar because the video was not there.”

The howler video ultimately turned out to be an innocent fragment from an old documentary about DWDD, in which Matthijs behaves at most somewhat irritated. But roar? He doesn’t do that. “Then the video came and then the video was not strong enough. Yes, I can’t help it that expectations were so high.”

Didn’t see the documentary

Why didn’t Eus say from the start that he just saw some old footage from the DWDD documentary? “I didn’t see that documentary at the time. It was explained to me like this. Apparently those specific fragments were included. Yes, okay, but the content remains the same. An unpleasant rehearsal.”

The intriguer now also states that he never said that those images were the reason for revaluing his friendship with Matthijs. “No, I didn’t say that either. That has become a kind of media reality, always cultivated on all kinds of other sites and podcasts and vloggers and whatnot.”

Pretty hysterical

It has all been blown too much out of proportion, Eus believes. “In retrospect, with all the dynamics that have arisen, I thought: maybe I shouldn’t have said that. But at the same time: I find it quite hysterical what has been happening for three weeks.”

But Eus fed that rumor mill himself, right? In fact, he put the machine together himself! Host Wilfred Genee: “Look, at one point René also came up with the story that there is a whole squadron waiting to mow down Matthijs van Nieuwkerk.”

Naughty apps

René van der Gijp said last week in VI, based on conversations with Eus, that: “There are three or four people who worked at DWDD and they have quite a lot of material on their phones. One works at Op1, the others also here at the Mediapark. They have a lot of material, but also apps to women. They have everything.”

They also have another video, Gijp heard from Eus. “It’s all material from the past eight years that was recorded during rehearsals. (…) They keep it to themselves and when Matthijs announces his return in six or seven months, then it will happen again.”

‘Yes that’s right!’

When Wilfred confronts Eus with this story, the myth builder answers affirmatively: “Yes, that is also in the newspaper. I told him that here. That was in the newspaper. Everyone involved knows about it. What’s so special about that?”

Wilfred: “That was all quite new to me.”

Eus pointing to René: “He heard it from me and it was recently in the newspaper.”

Wilfred is surprised: “So that is a group of people waiting for Matthijs van Nieuwkerk?”

Generally known

This is completely new information, but Eus once again pretends that everyone has known this for a long time: “I think it is common knowledge, someone who reads the newspaper also knows, that there are app groups in which it is closely monitored, yes. what’s happening.”

Wilfred: “I didn’t read it in the newspaper, I eventually heard it from René.”

Eus: “I can now show you a screenshot of the AD in which it simply states that there are app groups.”

Moaning apps

To be clear: it A.D wrote the following on February 5: “Several links to stories are shared in WhatsApp groups of former DWDD members, but people are careful about giving their opinions. The culture of fear still runs deep. In a smaller committee they discuss their experiences and the findings in the report.”

So nothing about material that was allegedly recorded over the past eight years or texts sent to women. That information really only comes from Eus, but Wilfred leaves this hanging over the table. And so the focus shifts from an alleged howler video to alleged moaning apps: what did Matthijs write to those women? And where are those apps?
