Rob Goossens has made a spicy claim about the letters section that Özcan Akyol keeps in the VARA guide. One of the notes, a somewhat vulgar piece about Fidan Ekiz, made the news today. But according to the media connoisseur of RTL Boulevard, that entry is simply completely made up and therefore fictional.

Apologies from Rob?

With that statement, Rob of course implies that there is reader fraud, but, like that tweets he about Özcan: “Compared to making up a raw life story to build an entire career in literature and TV, such a made-up note is of course not too bad.”

Rob’s suggestion that the somewhat dirty piece about Fidan was made up by Özcan, now leads to a spicy conflict between the two media celebrities. Özcan has shared a screenshot of the email sent by the letter writer in question as proof. “I assume that Rob Goossens will come up with an apology.”

Unscrupulous man

However, Rob does not react as hoped. “LOL! That you the writer of the letter would be is projection, Professor Akyol. I just don’t believe the letter writer exists. Very curious what exactly would make me wappie, by the way.”

Then Özcan says again: “Now, Rob, the days when we took you seriously are over too. Just keep rubbing the stain.”

So no apologies from Rob. Özcan: “Unscrupulous people don’t do that. (…) Really glad I’m not Rob Goossens today. Always happy anyway.”

Wappie

Why Özcan talks about a ‘wappie’? Twitter user Adam fills in: “Because Jan Dijkgraaf published this story about the so-called fake letter. The great Meiland biographer Dijkgraaf has been calling for years that Eus is lying about his past. For the time being, the only one who talks out of his frustrated neck is Dijkgraaf himself.”

And what does Jan think of it? “Eus demands an apology. LOL. Just prove that ‘Machiel van der Zel’ exists.”
