Racing Strasbourg has secured the services of Maxi Oyedele from Legia Warsaw. For the 20-year-old midfielder, the French pay 6 million euros-the third highest transfer for the EkstraKlasa club. The Polish international signs a contract until 2030. The two Bundesliga club Werder Bremen and VfL Wolfsburg was also said to be interested in Oyedele.
Oyedele had drawn attention to Legia Warsaw last season after the Poles had signed it from Manchester United’s U23. It was then able to increase its market value from 300,000 to 4 million euros. Of the 6 million euros that Legia receives for Oyedele, 40 percent should go to Man United.
According to media reports, the Bundesliga duo Bremen and Wolfsburg should also have been interested in Oyedele, but there was no concrete offer. Strasbourg, with an age of 22.1 years, represents the youngest squad in Europe’s top 5 leagues and will play the qualification for the Conference League after a seventh place last season.
