FOOTBALL – Jürgen Locadia can still kick off in the first group match of the Football World Cup. The striker from Emmen, who plays his international matches for Curaçao, has been suspended for only one match after his red card in last weekend’s practice match against Scotland.
The 32-year-old Locadia can serve this suspension just before the start of the final tournament, when Curaçao plays its farewell match against Aruba, FIFA and a spokesperson for the Curaçao Football Association report.
The former youth player of vv Bargeres therefore seems to be able to make his World Cup debut in the group stage against Germany. This will be followed by matches against Ecuador and Ivory Coast, in which Locadia hopes to shoot its team to a place in the knockout phase of the tournament.
