The pipodorp behind the former Speelstad Oranje was sold to two entrepreneurs last year. Several proposals to breathe new life into the recreation park have been reviewed in the meantime. For example, a plan has already been announced for an asylum seekers center, a function that the park also fulfilled from 2014 to 2017, large-scale housing construction, housing for migrant workers and now there is a wish to receive more Ukrainian refugees.
