The further implementation of the “BEST IN SPORTS” strategy will determine the timetable of INTERSPORT in the current 2021/2022 financial year. “We have grown in sales and also closed the financial year with a very positive result. This shows that we are well positioned as a group and are already successfully taking action on many topics of the BEST IN SPORTS strategy: be it in the area expansion, in the shop formats, the implementation of the new CI contracts, the introduction of selective sales for our exclusive brands , the virtual trade fair and the successful start-up of our new warehouse. The renewed confirmation of the strategic path taken by the owners of INTERSPORT creates planning security: This is a strong, positive signal to our partners in the dealer association and to the industry,” says Knud Hansen, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of INTERSPORT Deutschland eG. The focus of the strategy implementation, which is intended to transform the purchasing association into a customer-driven innovation community, remains operational excellence and quality leadership in the core business as well as the expansion and development of new digital business models.

“We are pleased about the confirmation and thank you for the trust that was and is placed in us. In the INTERSPORT management, our goal is to consistently continue on our way towards BEST IN SPORTS in dialogue between the network dealers of the service center and our partners in the industry. We are thus developing Germany’s leading ecosystem for sport and health – with innovative concepts to further expand the position of INTERSPORT as omnichannel market leader and multi-brand specialist in sports retail and to put it on a solid footing economically. In the past financial year, we were very successful overall at INTERSPORT,” says INTERSPORT CEO Dr. alexander v Preen and adds: “Against the background of the still very fragile framework conditions with interrupted supply chains, increasing freight costs and wholesale prices as well as a pandemic situation that is still not ending globally, I am very pleased that as of October 1, 2021, 463 dealers will already have the new CI signed contracts. This is a clear commitment from our dealers to the INTERSPORT brand and the BEST IN SPORTS strategy. We would like to thank the owners of INTERSPORT for this trust. We will continue to consistently promote the future course of INTERSPORT in dialogue with you.” The new CI contracts aim to implement binding and uniform criteria for addressing customers under the INTERSPORT brand as well as defined quality standards.
