There are serious concerns about the Ukrainian citizens who are still detained in the southern port city of Mariupol. Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed he would stop his offensive around the city, but the city authorities say bombings are still taking place, including in places where civilians are hiding. Putin did not respond to that claim and has set his sights on controlling all of southern Ukraine. Among other things, he wants to reach a renegade region of Moldova.
