A truck with a waste container overturned this morning in a loop of the cloverleaf near Hoogeveen. This causes a long traffic jam towards Assen. The waste container is located next to the road towards the A28, as is the associated load of waste.
The cabin crashed into a tree, a large amount of garbage and the waste container itself lie next to the road. The driver was unharmed.
Rijkswaterstaat has announced that it is carrying out clean-up work. The loop from the A37 to the A28 will remain closed for several hours. Rijkswaterstaat expects the road to be passable again at 12:30 p.m.
Traffic from Meppel is advised to drive to the North via Heerenveen.
