Outrageous behavior at the World Cup: the Russian emblem ended up in the stands of the Nokia Arena

The World Cup tourist supported Russia in the stands of the Nokia Arena.

During Thursday’s Hungary-Sweden match, one supporter attracted the attention of the security guards at the Nokia Arena. The man in the middle of the Hungarians supported a completely different gang, as he wore a white jersey with Russia written on it.

Safety manager for the World Ice Hockey Championships Ville Ketonen says that the man in question was taken away from the stands to be spoken to. A foreign supporter who otherwise behaved properly was allowed to return to watch the final stages of the game without his shirt. It remained a mystery whether the man was a supporter of Hungary at all or an individual soloist.

Ketonen mentions that removing the man from the stands for a while was also a favor to the supporter himself, because the shirt caused indignation in other spectators.

Ketonen, who was also in his position at the World Championships in 2022, 2012 and 2013, says that there have been no cases more serious than this in the ongoing tournament. Even small problems have been avoided.

– It has been a calm World Cup match. I can say that there are well-behaved people here.

In Ketonen’s papers, Hungarian supporters have emerged as the favorite group for home matches. Even though the Hungarians are left at the feet of the big puck giants in the rink, the Hungarians may take the victory in the audience with their encouragement.

Ketonen chooses the Swiss fan group as his second favorite. He hopes that Switzerland, who are playing their group games in Latvia, would find their way to Tampere. The situation looks good, as Switzerland has won all their matches so far.

– Switzerland has traditionally had a good fan base. If they can still get to Tampere, they will bring their own party when they come.
