This weekend, the large open-air swimming pool Lago Abdijkaai in Kortrijk will also open its doors a week earlier than expected. And that has everything to do with the persistently high temperatures. Last year, 15,000 visitors came to swim in the Abdijkaai. On a sweltering day like tomorrow there are 660 places. To avoid being overwhelmed, time slots of 60 people per half hour have been set. And on the website, visitors can check which times are fully booked.

In preparation for the new season, the two outdoor pools have already received a new coat of paint. The 94m long slide, springboard, fountains, inflatable belly slide, wipe-out, virtual snorkeling, sunbathing area, football and volleyball field and giant sandbank are in tip-top order so that Kortrijk residents can taste the ultimate holiday atmosphere in an iconic setting.
