Out for ex-BVB coach Bosz in Lyon

The former Bundesliga coach Peter Bosz is no longer coach of the French first division club Olympique Lyon. After just one point from four games, the bottom of the table parted ways with the Dutchman on Sunday and presented the former national coach Laurent Blanc as his successor.

The former Dortmund and Leverkusen coach Bosz took over Lyon in May 2021 and led the former series champions to the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

In the league, however, OL had only finished eighth. In the current season, the club, in which the German 2014 world champion Jérôme Boateng played practically no role, slipped more and more into the crisis.

Successor Blanc (56), most recently coach at Al-Rayyan SC in Qatar, became world champion with France as a player in 1998 and had won the French championship title four times as a coach with Girondins Bordeaux (1) and Paris St. Germain (3).
