National athlete Taha Akgül won the gold medal at the World Wrestling Championship held in Serbia.
On the seventh day of the organization held in the capital Belgrade, Taha faced Mongolian Lkhagvagerel Munkhtur in the 125 kg freestyle final.
Defeating his opponent 6-2 in the last match of the day at Star Arena, Taha won his third world championship in his career.
Taha Akgül had previously been world champion in 2014 and 2015.
The Olympic champion national wrestler won the 9th European championship this year in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
In the organization in Serbia, Taha Akgül defeated Hungarian Daniel Ligeti 4-0 in the second round, Canadian Amarveer Dhesi 8-2 in the quarter-finals, and defeated the last world champion Iranian Amir Zare 4-2 in the semi-finals.
Georgian Geno Petriashvili and Iranian Amir Zare won the bronze medals in the freestyle 125 kilos.

At the end of the seventh day of the World Wrestling Championship, Turkey has reached 7 medals, including 4 gold and 3 bronze.
The championship in Serbia will end on Sunday (September 18th).
