Otto Wallin, 31, guards pedophiles and murderers – This is what he learned from them

Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder will return to the ring, but not yet against each other.

Boxing fans all over the world are eagerly waiting for the big match. Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder we want to go to the ring.

The wish will not come true yet perfectly on Christmas Eve. In Saudi Arabia’s big boxing night, Joshua takes on Sweden From Otto Wallin. Wilder, on the other hand, will face the New Zealander of Joseph Parker.

The 31-year-old Wallin has been persistently waiting for his chance to get into such a tough match. The tall Swede, who won 26 matches as a professional and only lost once, already four years ago was able to face Tyson Fury’s. The British boxer didn’t have an easy time then, even though Wallin lost on points.

Wallin’s path to becoming a heavyweight professional was different in many ways.

– Wallin is a long-haired, left-handed boxer who did not achieve any great success in his amateur career, Iltalehti’s expert reminds Jaakko Dahlbacka.

At the age of 21, Wallin worked as a prison guard. The prisoners had a violent background.

– There were murderers, pedophiles and those who needed psychiatric treatment and therefore could not enter a “normal prison”.

– I learned a lot there. After that experience, I don’t judge people the same way I did before. You never know what they have experienced and gone through. It is not a simple matter. They have been convicted of heinous crimes, but at the same time they are human, Wallin said of the Daily Star in the interview.

According to Wallin, the job description was easy. The guards made sure everyone was safe.

– I had time to train during my lunch breaks, and work did not interfere with my boxing career.

Joshua in a tougher test

Wallin is undeniably the underdog against Joshua. According to Dahlbacka, Wallin does not have exceptional knockout power in his fists.

– But it has gone pretty well. He is in really good shape, he is tall enough and a reasonable volume boxer. Fury was in trouble at times against Wallin. It was the first time I thought wow, Otto Wallin really knows how to punch, the expert enthuses.

Both Joshua and Wilder have one thing in common. The previous victories of both of them have come in tymäyä and also in Finland of Robert Helenius against.

Anthony Joshua’s performance against Robert Helenius was shaky, despite the knockout victory. PDO

British striker Joshua tries once again to return to the brightest peak of the heavyweight division. Tatsi was at times lost against Helenius, although Joshua knocked out the “Northern Nightmare” in the seventh round.

– Joshua is very athletic and hard-hitting, but the going is fumbling. It is not uniform and progressive.

– Now Joshua has a new coaching pattern again. Ben Davison, the devil behind Tyson Fury’s success, has now come to Joshua’s aid. Maybe he could be good at guiding Joshua. But there are people other than Davison around him.

Wilder’s match break has already stretched over a year. In the above episode of Kulmamieste, Dahlbacka shares his views on the hitting ability of Alabama’s knockout machine. He also assessed whether Wilder would be the early favorite against Joshua.
