& Other Stories has announced a collection in collaboration with Minju Kim for spring 2022. The collection will include clothing and accessories that express the Korean designer’s playful aesthetic. The looks will refer to Minju Kim’s fairytale vision, which will be transferred to the designs through appropriate craftsmanship, announced the fashion label belonging to the Swedish H&M group on Tuesday. “The way in which Minju Kim skilfully and effortlessly combines playfulness with avant-garde haute couture aesthetics really appeals to us and the modern woman,” says Rocky af Ekenstam Brennicke, Head of Brand and Creative at & Other Stories.
After Minju Kim won the H&M Design Award in 2013 and was nominated for the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers in 2014, she founded her label of the same name in 2015. In 2020 the Korean, who grew up in New Zealand, took first place in the Netflix show “Next in Fashion”, in which budding designers put their skills to the test. Since then, Minju Kim has been known for the structured elegance of her designs, which she accentuates with soft colors and patterns. In the collaboration with & Other Stories, Minju sees an opportunity to make her label’s creations more easily accessible.
The collection will be available in selected stores worldwide and online at Stories.com from spring 2022.
