Ostend wins top match against Leiden
The score does not quite reflect the dominance of the Ostend players, who had cut a gap of 21 points after three quarters (67-46). The visitors came up strongly in the fourth and final quarter (11-24), but that was not enough to really put the host to the test.
Phil Booth proved to be the most active man in the Kustboys with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. In the other match in the Elite Gold, two extensions were needed to separate Antwerp Giants from Groningen (93-95). After regular time it was 73-73 and after the first five-minute extension it was 84-84.
Antwerp finally had to leave the thumbs, despite 30 points from Markel Brown and 22 from Jaylen Hands. Den Bosch (22), Mechelen (22), Bergen (21), Leuven (21), Groningen (20), Antwerp (19), Zwolle (18) and Feyenoord (17) are lagging behind leader Ostend and number two Leiden.
