Ostend wants to lure Dutch tourists with basketball club
Not coincidentally, because BC Oostende plays in the BNXT League, a professional basketball competition in Belgium and the Netherlands.
In the series we see the ins and outs of the basketball club with Ostend as the backdrop. In the video series, the spotlights are on Key Van der Vuurst, a major Dutch top talent within the basketball world.
“Market of 16 million Dutch people”
The films are intended to make the Dutch enthusiastic about Ostend’s trump cards. The first episode can be seen from Thursday on the social media channels of the club and the city.
Mayor of Ostend Bart Tommelein: “You always need an entrance, so to speak and then you arrive in the Netherlands with a market of 16 million Dutch people. Who are not so far from Ostend and can thus also get to know the Flemish coast. And the unique situation of the city by the sea, a city by the sea they don’t really have that in the Netherlands, they can find that with us.”
