Ostend tests decisions on consequences for people in poverty

In this way, the city’s Poverty Test Working Group wants to increase support among decision-makers, both at the political level and at the level of management and management. Civil servants who prepare decisions are addressed from the start, and there is also training for this. The Working Group Poverty Test also includes associations where people living in poverty take the floor themselves.

Every year the council of aldermen will select a few files to which the poverty test will be applied. Tests were already carried out with a few files last year, after a second evaluation, Ostend will definitively launch the poverty test from the beginning of next year.
