Ostend loses basketball cup final against Antwerp Giants

Antwerp took the best start and was leading 25-17 after the first quarter. Ostend tried to close that gap in the second quarter (16-18), but only succeeded to a limited extent, leaving the Giants 41-35 halfway. Also in the third quarter (21-22) the West Flemish could hardly catch up. In the final quarter (15-14) Ostend could not fight back.

Second cup final in a row

Antwerp was in the final for the seventh time since 2007. In 2007, 2019 and 2020 it won the final battle, in 2000 it took the cup as Racing Basket Antwerp. Ostend has twenty cups in its trophy cabinet, the last of which was won in 2021. Last year, the coastal team had to leave the cup to Limburg United.
