Ostend lighthouse will soon shine again for the full 100%
Yesterday, a newly applied cover foil was removed, which was supposed to shield part of the light circle inland. Rays of light are therefore once again entering a few luxury residential towers on the Oosteroever, and they will soon be even brighter.
At the end of January, the Lange Nelle received an energy-efficient LED lamp, which only works at three-quarters of the normal light intensity. A technical adjustment will follow, but in no more than a few weeks the lighthouse will shine at full power again. The new LED lamp replaces an old halogen lamp of 2000 watts, and also emits slightly less warm light.
