Ostend is not competing for European Capital of Culture 2030
In this way, Ostend distances itself from the battle between Bruges and Kortrijk in this dossier. They both want to become European Capital of Culture in 2030. Bruges already did that in 2002.
Ostend wants to focus on the Ensor year in 2024 and on cultural festivals spread throughout the year, such as Theater aan Zee or the photo biennale.
