Ostend Film Festival started
The Ostend Film Festival has started with “Nowhere” by Director Peter Monsaert with Koen De Bouw and Noa Tambwe Kabati in the lead roles. At the preview of the opening film, it was also a matter of looking forward to the familiar faces on the red carpet. Ostend is finally the focal point of the Flemish film sector for ten days again.
The festival also wants to pay attention to the war in Ukraine. On Tuesday, the film “Dobass” will be shown as a show of support for the people of Ukraine. The proceeds will be transferred to a support action for Ukrainian refugees. Much of the current Russian invasion is currently going on in the region where Loznitsa’s film is set, and as in the film, the civilian population is now the main casualty.
