Ostend fights child poverty with Clipper

It received a subsidy of 120,000 euros for this. The project fits in with the fight against poverty, which is a priority for Ostend. For this project, the city is working together with the non-profit organization De Katrol, which will work with the families.

At De Katrol, it is anchor figures who contact the families to guide them. Wendy also asks what needs are there: “That can be going to an appointment, making a phone call, preparing them for a telephone, giving a full explanation about a certain organization or service so that they are fully involved in the story.”

Klipper now mainly focuses on families with minor children whose parents have not worked for the past three months.
