Last Sunday, Billie Eilish took the stage at the Academy Awards with her brother FINNEAS and performed the new James Bond tune “No Time To Die”. The track later won an Oscar for best song.
The performance followed a tribute to Bond’s 60th anniversary earlier in the evening. FINNEAS accompanied his sister on piano and sang backing vocals as she took the stage in a dramatic black blouse and trousers. The performance was accompanied by a laser light show. Here’s the stream of the performance:
After the song had already won the Golden Globes, Grammys and Critics Choice Awards, Eilish was able to secure the award for Best Song at the Oscars.
Looking at past winners, it seems the Academy has an affinity for Bond titles. In 2012, Adele’s “Skyfall” from “Skyfall” and Sam Smith’s “Writing’s on the Wall” from “Spectre” from 2015 received awards for best original song.
Eilish is currently still in the middle of her “Happier Than Ever Tour”, which accompanies her second studio album of the same name. For three concerts in Cologne, Frankfurt and Berlin, the Eilish tour will also lead to Germany in June. Tickets for the shows are available here.
