ANDmma stone won a 2024 oscar for best leading actress for Poor creatures!. She beat Annette Bening (Nyad – Beyond the ocean), Carey Mulligan (Master), Sandra Hüller and especially Lily Gladstone (Killers of the Flower Moon), the favorite to win. And in fact the network didn’t take this surprise very well. While recognizing the quality of the interpretation, equally worthy, an Oscar seemed to Lily to be the right seal for a less flashy role, with the added weight of the minority to which compensation could also have come from the highest cinema prize.

The second Oscar for Emma Stone

Born in 1988, this is the second Oscar of her career for Emma Stone. He won the first in 2017 with La La Landin which she played aspiring actress Mia Dolan, the protagonist of a tormented love story with Sebastian Wilder (Ryan Gosling). In 2015 the first candidacy with Birdman and in 2019 she was again in the running for the statuette with The favourite.

With Poor creatures! it also won a Golden Globe, a BAFTA and a Critics’ Choice Award. In total the film won four Oscars: best actress, best costumes (Holly Waddington), best production design (James Price, Shoha Heath, Zsuzsa Mihalek), best make-up and hairstyling (Nadia Stacey, Mark Coulier, Josh Weston).
