As of late, you are greeted at the town limits in “Reickendorf” instead of in Reinickendorf. How many pairs of eyes must have slept there, from the district office to the sign maker?
Admittedly, those who live in glass houses, like us journalists, shouldn’t behave too maliciously here. You, dear readers, know best that there are a number of error devils out and about in the BZ. But swallowing a whole syllable on a place name sign with three words? Awkward.
It is surprising that the sign was left hanging for so long. Does it matter to the responsible gentlemen? But that would be a scandal.
As the mayor of Reinickendorf, I would have personally driven to the “crime scene” with a screwdriver and removed the Schildbürger sign.
