“We want the concerts, and so does the city,” says the organizer, clearing up rumors about gig cancellations.
According to a Facebook post by the “Free Voters” on February 29th, the two AC/DC gigs and the four Rammstein concerts in Dresden were in jeopardy. However, there is now clarification – all performances will start as planned.
Concerts can take place as planned
“We have learned that the concerts planned in the flood channel in the summer are said to have to contend with considerable requirements from the Dresden city administration. A cancellation and relocation to Leipzig should be in the cards,” says the group’s Facebook post.
The event organizer Rodney Aust has now confirmed to “Bild” that the shows can be implemented as planned. “We are in daily contact with the city of Dresden about this,” explains Aust. “We want the concerts, the city too. They will take place in Dresden,” the organizer continues.
The city of Dresden agrees with this statement: “Nothing is in jeopardy. The rumors that planned concerts in the Dresden flood channel will be canceled or relocated to other locations are false. The venue has challenges.” The organizers and the state capital would also constantly exchange information on this.
Rammstein sold out, AC/DC only a few tickets available
Rammstein’s upcoming Dresden gigs on May 15th, May 16th, May 18th and May 19th are all sold out. The AC/DC performance on June 16th is also sold out, but tickets are still available for the show on June 19th. The rush for tickets for the “Power Up” tour was still immense – most of the concerts were sold out within a very short time.
