Normally, it is usual for press representatives to be provided with so-called accreditations for the purpose of free reporting at larger concerts. Because “Münchner Merkur” and “tz” had written critically about the organization of the Helene Fischer concert in Munich, the organizer “Leutgeb Entertainment” briefly denied them access to the Robbie Williams show.

Leutgeb explains himself with the “pressure of the last few weeks”

Klaus Leutgeb has now apologized for this in a letter to the respective editors-in-chief: “I would like to apologize sincerely and honestly for the withdrawal of the accreditation.” Freedom of the press is also a great asset for him. He made the decision “due to the pressure of the last few weeks” and “the many attacks”, which from his point of view “in this form were sometimes really not entirely justified.” The Austrian continued: “My only will was three great ones for Munich To organize concerts with a very high added value, from which everyone benefits.”

Leutgeb previously explained that it was the first time in his company’s history that certain journalists had their accreditations revoked. The “BR” quoted the company as saying: “We are fully aware that events with more than 100,000 visitors do not always go smoothly and that you will find the hair in the soup if you look for it! What we do have a problem with, though, is untruths and scaremongering.”

smoothed waves

If Leutgeb wrote a few days ago about “controlled sleazy media”, the waves now seem smoothed after his apology: “For us it was credible,” says the “Münchner Merkur”. Further discussions between the editors and the agency are planned.
