Orange women train with a fit selection in the run-up to the first duel at the European Championship | NOW

The Orange Women appeared on Wednesday with a fully fit selection at the training in Carrington, England. National coach Mark Parsons has all his 24 players at his disposal.

The Netherlands arrived in England on Tuesday and then completed a closed training session. The first public session for the press followed on Wednesday. The Parsons team trains during the European Championship on the training field of Stockport County, which plays in the National League, the fifth tier of England.

The Orange women are working in Carrington towards Saturday’s game with Sweden, which is the first opponent of the Netherlands at the European Championship in Sheffield. Sweden is the losing finalist at the Tokyo Olympics. About 2,500 Dutch fans travel to Sheffield.

After the match against Sweden, duels with Portugal (July 13 in Leigh) and Switzerland will follow (July 17 in Sheffield). The Orange Women are defending champions at the European Championship. Five years ago, under the leadership of the current English national team coach Sarina Wiegman, the Netherlands took the European title in their own country.

Wiegman’s England open the European Championship on Wednesday with a duel at a sold-out Old Trafford against Austria. The host country is the big favorite for the overall victory, the Netherlands is one of the outsiders.
