After the 3-2 victory over Helmond Sport, Telstar is preparing for the next meeting in the first division. On Friday evening at 8 p.m., middle-ranking NAC will visit Velsen-Zuid. Telstar coach Uli Landvreugd is looking forward to the match against the number ten of the first division with good courage.
There is great relief within the selection after Telstar won for the first time in nine games last Friday. “We were in a downward spiral. You want to break that spiral at some point. It was nice that that was last week, but then we shouldn’t immediately start running the polonaise. One swallow does not make a summer.”
Underdog
NAC is coming to visit tomorrow. “We can catch anyone. Only NAC is a big club in everything. Anyway, we are certainly not inferior to them. Statistically speaking, we are the underdog, but we just play at home. And we always want to sell our skin dearly at home. .”
“They have achieved one victory in the last six games. Then you have to look carefully at why that is and what causes it.”
Telstar and NAC have already faced each other this season. Despite an early lead, Telstar lost 3-1 in the Rat Verlegh Stadium on October 20. At that time Telstar had no chance, but now the world looks different. “They have had a lot of changes in the last period. And in the last six games they have achieved one victory. Then you have to look carefully at why that happens and what causes it. And that’s where we try to hurt them.”

Apau returns
NAC is the favorite in advance. However, Telstar is not going to change last week’s game style. “We adjusted it a bit last week and we don’t want to deviate too much from that. We will continue our playing style.”
There are changes to the selection. Captain Mitch Apau returns after a suspension. “Mitch is back in the selection and he can start,” concludes Landvreugd. Robin Polley and Leonardo Rocha de Almeida are injured and therefore cannot be used.
