The melancholy film Oppenheimer about the ‘father of the atomic bomb’ became the big winner on Sunday evening with five prizes at the 81st edition of the Golden Globes. Director Christopher Nolan’s film won in the categories of best drama film, best director and best actor (Cillian Murphy).
The other big summer hit Barbie missed out on the most important prizes, but did win the prizes for best film song (Billy Eilish) and best-performing film at the box office. Oppenheimer was nominated eight times and Barbie nine times, as if three times for best film song.
Poor Things took at the expense of Barbie the Golden Globe in the category of best comedy film/musical and leading actress Emma Stone won best actress in a comedy film and not Margot Robbie for her portrayal of Barbie.

Television series
As for television series, both could be done Succession as TheBear count on several golden statues. The HBO series Succession about the media conglomerate of the fictional Roy family, won the prize for best drama series, best actor (Kieran Culkin) and best actress (Sarah Snook).
The second season of the successful series TheBear about a talented chef in a chaotic sandwich shop was named best comedy series and leading actors Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri won the awards for best actor and best actress in a comedy series.
British comedian Ricky Gervais packed for his show Armageddonin which the woke movement is his favorite target, the Golden Globe in a new category: best stand-up comedy performance on TV.
