Opinion | Old acquaintance – NRC

I was at the supermarket the other day and saw an old acquaintance, but I couldn’t remember her name. I was sure she was in my math class. I started thinking deeply.

Marie? Claire? Fleur? I’m feeling exhausted and ashamed. She must be really offended that I can’t remember her name. I walk up to her with courage. I say: “Hey, long time no see! How is your…um…life going?” She looked at me confused for a moment and replied: “That’s fine, but do I know you?”
