Her unborn child was in distress; the placenta had let go. I had a cesarean section urgently. More than fifteen minutes after her arrival at the hospital, a glowing healthy male was born. It was a well-oiled example of teamwork. Six weeks later, I speak at length with the young mother during a follow-up check-up at the outpatient clinic. I ask how she experienced it all. “Good,” she says, “but it went terribly fast, I felt just like Max Verstappen during a pit stop.”
