Opinion | Lock – NRC

An hour and a half in line at Schiphol. Once in the far too cramped seat, the captain informs us that we will leave on time ‘as soon as the last suitcases are loaded’. Again the captain: “We missed the lock, loading took too much time, put at the back of the queue, leave an hour and a half later.” Moans in the coffin. After a while the captain again: “We can leave earlier, in half an hour.” Everyone is happy with an hour delay.
